Gwendolyn Captain
Founder

Gwendolyn Captain is the founder and director of Visions Adult Day Program.

Ms. Captain has spent the last 15 years working with developmentally disabled adults and their families developing work opportunities, continuing education paths and entrepreneurial experiences in day programs, community-based programs and in the classroom. Dedicating her career to innovative person-centered opportunities has been the focus of the various creative programs she has developed over the years. Ms. Captain has worked as a vocational counselor, staff trainer and administrator. She has also worked as a Life Skills Instructor and Adult Education Teacher for West Contra Costa Adult Education.  Ms. Captain has served as a consultant on several boards, Risk Management Strategy Team for individuals with autism and Unity Education Services for at-risk youth. Educating community organizations to foster inclusion of adults with developmental disabilities is also part of Ms. Captain’s mission. She also works for WCCUSD as an Employment Specialist. She is a champion of helping young adults with learning disabilities transition into the world of work.  She holds a B.A. from Cal State Eastbay, Doctor’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Sacramento Theology Seminary and has an Adult Education Teaching Credential.

Renee Moore
Manager

After 20+ years of humble public service; working and volunteering in various capacities within the disabled community, Renee's heart continues to emphatically beat for this community. With a formal education in Early Childhood Development – specializing in working with children with developmental disabilities, counseling and violence intervention – she has been blessed to beautifully weave a connected support system that has been strengthened & fortified when she became the program manager for Visions. Renee and her staff work to create a safe, supportive, holistic, cohesive environment; that fosters participant independence, autonomy, purpose driven goals and self determination. Participants living a quality infused, choice filled life is our goal. She is excited to see what the future holds for Visions participants – as Visions continues to focus on positive growth & development; while enthusiastically helping everyone to live their best lives!

Kim Randall
Lead Staff

Kim Randall is an experienced Lead Vocational Counselor.  Kim has been  working with adults with developmental disabilities. for over 10 years.  Kim specializes in training participants, motivating participants and inspiring participants to do their best.  Kim brings her passion for DIY (Do It Yourself Projects). The participants love working with Kim and being apart of her team. Kim also has over 10 years experience working residential.  Her knowledge of day program  and residential services adds an extra level of supports for our participants.

Modestine Johnson
Resident Nutritionist

Modestine Johnson has been with the Visions Community since 2018; Miss Tina as she is affectionately called is our resident nutritionist. Miss Tina uploads videos daily in our Google Classroom with a strong emphasis on what’s good for our bodies.Miss Tina has over 30 years experience in healthy eating and she shares this passion with our Visions Community.Miss Tina is retired from AC Transit.  We are honored to have Miss Tina on our team
